My entire family loves reading the Edmonton Examiner. But does it make any sense to have the font of the 'Senior Scene' that tiny? My parents are seniors so I can attest to the challenges with vision changes and age!

Dear Examiner

I read your paper all the time and i enjoy reading about the events going around my community and beyond, i love reading the most is the puzzler page. I had a shock when i read the caption "they say this in.." and i found out that you say "dough" in spanish "pasta". Me being part spanish and italian, find it really offensive when some of our words are sometimes translated the impropper way, I wish that next time i read the examiner i might be able to find the correct word in translation.

In the Dec 2 issue there was a recipe for peanut toffee pie that looked really good but it was missing one ingrediant. It would be impossible to make without knowing how much corn syrup is required.

Dear Editor,

Thank you for your short piece, in the November 11, 2009 edition, regarding the significance of Remembrance Day.

However, a small correction is necessary. You state: "Edmonton is a military town now . . ."

In fact, Edmonton has been a "military town" since the beginning of the 20th Century, when the 19th Alberta Mounted Rifles (February 1908) and the 101st Regiment (April 1908) were formed.

In other words, Edmonton has had a strong connection to the military for about 100 years, which continues on with the presence of the Edmonton Garrison.

This long and storied history underscores the importance of all Edmontonians actively supporting our brave and dedicated veterans and currently-serving Canadian Forces members . . . not just on November 11, but every day.

The Big Bad swine flu.
So Harper is spending 400 million dollars to create 50 million vaccines for the 30-something million Canadians.
But... in Canada to date there have been 78 deaths related to swine flu since the first being on May 8, 2009...
At this rate there may be almost 200 in 12 months....so what the heck are we being fed?
And... most of these people have had underlying medical conditions, or they died from something else while they had swine flu or was it as the symptoms are the same as regular flu?
In Canada approx 2500 people die each year from the regular flu...yes the regular flu that has been with us since I was born and before.
Hey... do I know or do you know anyone who has had the swine flu or do we know anyone who knows of anyone who had this BIG BAD H1N1 flu virus (swine flu)?
